Children can start Tap classes from the age of 4 yearsl in our Pre-Primary class on Saturday mornings.  Once the children are in Year 1, they join our mid-week classes and will have the option of entering their first Tap examination with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.

 

Students work their way up through the ISTD grades to Grade 6, at which point those that are capable will move on to Vocational examinations: Intermediate, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2.

 

Tap encourages childrens' natural rhythm and musicality. Over the years, HDS has built up its reputation within Tap dance both locally and nationally, as we have, on numerous occasions, won the Tap Challenge Awards, competed at the Dance World Cup and at All England.
