Vocational Grades:

Girls - Black Capezio BraTek leotard, pink/skin tone convertible tights, pink/skin tone satin soft shoes or canvas split sole (depending graded class uniform), pink/skin tone pointe shoes once the teacher has given permission. Hair in a bun with a net.

Boys - White capped-sleeved leotard, navy cotton stirrup tights, white ballet socks, white canvas shoes (Bloch or Capezio).

Pre-Primary Tap:

Uniform as Pre-Primary Ballet with black canvas or leather tap shoes. Hair tied back neatly.

 

Primary - Grade 3 Modern and Tap:

Girls - Suzie-Q velvet keyhole leotard of your own choice of colour, black cotton stirrups worn under the leotard (not leggings), bare feet for modern, black socks and full leather tap shoes. Hair tied back neatly. HDS base layers may be worn in colder months and plain black shorts in warmer months.

Boys - White plain t-shirt, navy cotton shorts, white tap socks, black full leather tap shoes.

Our preferred tap shoes are Bloch Jazz Taps

 

Grade 4 – Advanced:

Girls - Any colour/style leotard, black convertible or footless tights worn over the top of the leotard (not leggings), bare feet, full leather black tap shoes. The suitability of specialist tap shoes should be advised from the tap teacher. Hair in a bun with a net. HDS base layers may be worn in colder months and plain black shorts in warmer months.

Boys - Any colour leotard, black tights or as above bare feet for Modern, full leather black tap shoes.

Our preferred tap shoes are Bloch Jazz Taps.

 

G4 and above may wear Jason Samuel Smith, Reuben Sanchez or Miller & Ben tap shoes but first seek advice from tap teachers on their suitability.

HDS t-shirt*, black leggings/joggers/shorts and plain white trainers (similar to Nike Air Force 1's). Hair tied back neatly.

If your child currently has white hi-tops they are still acceptable but once they need a new pair please refer to the above.

Senior - Advance:

Any sport clothing suitable to dance in. Clean trainers. Hair tied back neatly. Please note an HDS t-shirt* may be required for performances.

Mini - Inter:

HDS t-shirts* with black leggings/jazz pants/joggers/shorts, (black jazz shoes may be needed for shows and performances). Hair tied back neatly.

Senior - Advance:

Any appropriate clothing for the class that isn't revealing and allows the body to move freely. Hair tied back neatly. Please note an HDS t-shirt* and jazz shoes may be required for performances.
